Hotels and Youth/Family Hostels

Åre has an excellent range of hotels ranging from five star to low budget. There are rooms and suites with wonderful views of the lake and mountains, hotels located in the middle of the village and others located high on the mountain.

There are also youth & family hostels located in and around Åre. Most hostels supply breakfasts but the typical standard is self-catering. Hostels usually have a common kitchen, large dining room and a television lounge and shared bathrooms.

Apartment Hotels

Another popular choice for accommodation is to rent a holiday apartment. Åre has a large number of centrally located apartment hotels with apartments of all sizes available for weekly or half weekly rental. These self-catering privately owned apartments are ideal for those who want to stay in the centre of the village within walking distance of everything. The majority of them are equipped with a full sized kitchen making self catering easy and convenient.

Holiday Cottages and Chalets

There are also simple mountain huts in the region suitable for overnight stays. West Jämtland offers fantastic hiking and ski touring and the many mountain stations in the area allow for fantastic experiences in the wilderness.

There is a number of camping areas in the Åre region. Amenities usually include common kitchens, dining rooms and shower blocks. Many are located in breathtaking locations in the mountains or near lakes and rivers. Places are available for both tenting and caravans and caravans can even be rented for your stay.
