Activity and tranquility heaven

110 pistes, 43 lifts, 8 parks and miles upon miles of ski tracks. But this does not even touch the surface.

If it is adventure you are looking for Åre offers this in abundance, year around. When the snow has subsided, well into spring, another side of Åreskutan opens up. A fantastic network of trails to discover, views to take in and forests to explore.

Activity frenzy

For the adrenaline junkies you can tear down Åreskutan on mountain bikes, throw yourself down a ravine on a zipline or go white water rafting. Let's go the whole hog, you can even run off the mountain and catch some thermals, before landing on the shores of the lake.

Total tranquility

But it's not all action. A calm kayak on Åresjön, a visit to one of the impressive surrounding waterfalls or just take a ride up in the cable car to take in the views from the top of Åreskutan. Then, at the end of the day, you can visit a chocolate factory, pamper yourself with a massage and spa, or sit in a hot-tub and take in the big sky.

Season changes

And then, when the winter creeps back in, it is not just the pistes that are on offer. Ice-driving, horse riding, ice-fishing, snowmobiling, ice-climbing and husky mushing to name a few.

Åre really is a place where you can go on an adventure and find your limits, or just come to relax, take in the nature and refresh yourself. If you are going to keep up with all the activities Åre has to offer, you better make it a long vacation.
