In the winter season there are more than 60 restaurants and cafés in Åre, many more than you would expect in a village of its size. The number of restaurants open during the summer season is increasing every year. Restaurants

Åre has a wide range of restaurants. The selection is varied and there is something for everyone, whatever your taste or budget. Modern Swedish cuisine with international influences is widely available and there are also restaurants with Japanese, Italian, Greek and American style menus. Many restaurants use locally and sustainably produced ingredients in their dishes.

Cafés

Coffee is an important part of the Swedish lifestyle. After a day in the great outdoors why not treat yourself to a cup and a delicious snack in one of Åre’s fantastic cafés. Or maybe a light lunch is just what is needed after a morning of shopping. Many of the cafés bake their own pies, bread, cakes, buns and muffins. Summer cafés can be found all around the countryside from June until August. Don’t miss your chance to drink strong Swedish coffee and enjoy a traditional Jämtland thin-bread sandwich out in the sun.

Après Ski

After a long day in the slopes you simply have to experience après ski, Åre style. Live music and lots of people. Don’t miss Fjällgården, Bygget or Dippan for an action packed afternoon. There are quieter alternatives as well – why not order a well-deserved drink to enjoy in front of a blazing fire together with friends and family.

Nightlife

During the winter season Åre has the pulse of a big city after dark.  Bars and nightclubs line the streets and there is a full schedule of DJs, cover bands and well known artists performing all season.
