The outdoors even offer an extensive range of activities all year around, including hiking, zipline, mountain biking, dog sledding, rafting, snowmobiling, alpine and cross-country skiing, fly-fishing, paragliding, hunting, horseback riding, canoeing, rock climbing and cable car access to the top of Mt. Åreskutan.

The wilderness, the mountains and the lakes are on your doorstep offering an extensive range of outdoor activities all year round.

Skiing Millest Moose Farm

Despite Åre’s compact size, its cosy village atmosphere and everything within walking distance, the restaurants and nightlife are that which you might expect in a sizable city. 65 restaurants offer great dining for everyone - everything from gourmet cuisine to fast food is available. Try some of the local delicacies, or select your favourite dish from one of the international menus.

Spend the night dancing or see a live band at one of the village’s ten nightclubs, or decide which of the 25 bars your favourite is. Après-ski ‘the Åre way’ means live music, happy people and a great party atmosphere; the perfect ending to a day in the slopes, or start to an evening out.

Perfect for a small group or a large convention

Åre village has developed a rich selection of first-rate accommodation, shopping, activities, nightlife and communications. During the winter season, the 1,000 permanent inhabitants see the addition of 30,000 visitors a day and there is room for up to 3,000 of these in the events and congress hall, TV 4 Sport Arena.

TV 4 Sport Arena was finished in 2004 and is a fully equipped convention centre seating up to 1,550 delegates. It is located in the centre of Åre, overlooking the mountains and the lake. Connected to the arena is Holiday Club hotel with 250 rooms, a waterpark and recreation centre. High-quality catering and several full-service restaurants are located in the building.

Within easy walking distance you can find a further 1,200 hotel rooms and Åre has a total accommodation capacity of 32 000 beds, many in high standard apartments and apartment hotels.

A safe place in an expanding and innovative region
